The modern day cat's habitat is a thing of great contention. But seeing as many of them still live outdoors as they once did, we choose to believe that the forests and fields are where they truly feel at home. And so we made this collection of cute cats in their natural habitats to prove said point.

After all, what are we doing as feline pawrents if not recreating the forests and fields of the world by buying our cat children trees, scratching posts and more items that in one way or another serve to replace the real thing outdoors? And when we do those things our cats use them for their intended natural purposes.

Whether it be sitting atop a cat tree and yelling at birds that they would like to eat, or stretching and scratching a post (or tree trunk), they are fully fixated on recreating the things they were instinctually bred to do in this world. So we figured we would put together this list of cats in their natural habitats to remind the pawrents of the world that it might be a good idea to take their cats out of the home every now and then to sniff a tree.

You might have thought that an outdoor cat and a dog lover could not become lifelong buds, but as you will come to find in this story this pair were a match made by the Cat Distribution System.

And when the Cat Distribution System makes up its mind about a match, there is little that anyone can do to stop it from carrying out its plan. Moreover there is little reason to try and stop it seeing as the CDS is an ancient system that knows far better than us when a cat is right for us.

So much like this cat and his new hooman, if you are ever put in such a situation it is for the best that you succumb to it and enjoy your new life as a pawrent to a purr machine. Much like this dog lover did after moving his new found fluffy fur baby into his basement and taking the time to get to know his new cat child's quirks and curiosities. This is the story of how a dog lover becomes a cat lover in a matter of days.

Dealing with the day like a cat would, could fix all our pawblems.

The days are full of problems recently, and there's no way around but to just solve them. But it's not a question of whether you go and solve a problem, but a question of how you approach a solution. And approaching problems with the mind of a cat is the best pawssible way to tackle this day. The midweek slump is never easy, but some cat confidence can turn a frown fluffside down. Troubles at work? Don't care. Anxiety? Don't know her. That's the cat way, and it's purrfect for any regular Wednesday.

And what's a more fitting way to get this instilled in you than surrounding your mind with some feline funnies? It's the funniest, cutest, most hilarious, and most wholesome way to get that feline feeling of greatness in the middle of any regular week. Just like this one. And just like these cat memes below. Let the feline funnies take over your mind and mood, and turn this day the cat way.

Nothing brings the family together like a comedic collection of funny, fluffy felines!

It's Wednesday, and you're looking for a family activity, huh? You need something that's going to convince the kids to put down their iPads or tear their eyes away from YouTube, something wholesome and fun, but will still pique their interest. Something lighthearted, fluffy, cute, and funny? Wherever will you find such a thing? What could pawssibly be all of those things and more? Cats can, obviously.

Cats are great because they're loved by all ages of people, from tiny toddlers to senior citizens. We haven't met a single purrson in the world who doesn't go "awwwwww" whenever they see a kitten. We're not even sure such a purrson exists. If they do, they certainly live a very sorry life for not even thinking kittens are cute.

Cats are like the movie Shrek. It's funny, cute, and appealing to both kids and their parents. Cats are derpy enough to make kids laugh just by sitting in a silly way, and silly enough for parents to laugh at their ridiculousness. We know it's a pawsitively strange comparison, but to us, it makes purrfect sense.

Take your family, sit them all down next to you, and enjoy these funny feline photos together. It's a bonding activity where you can "oooooo" and "awwww" over these purrfectly silly kitties as a family activity. Then, have a tickle fight, if your kids will allow it. Bonding with your family is impurrtant, and there's no better bonding than over some awwdorable cats.

We already know orange cats are weird lil' bois, but they never cease to amaze us with dumb displays of unintelligence. And it's hissterically hilarious.

There's something so special about orange cats, and it's not their fiery fur that burns like the sun. It's their absolutely fried brain, the emptiness between their ears, and their patience while waiting for their turn with the one collective brain cell all orange cats in the world share. Orange cats are blissfully brainless, and make all the shenanigans in the meantime. And this one cat pawrent saw that his orange boi not only isn't different from the rest, but is so blissfully weird he can't even believe this is regular cat behavior. And it's all caught on camera, as a coo-coo collection of orangeness for all to witness.

But don't get us wrong, we absolutely love orange cats. We love it when they climb on door frames, we love it when they scream into the void, we love it when they fall off the couch because it's too much for them to focus. Orange cats are the spice of life, the funny addition to a household, and definitely the best brainless creatures around.

Life as a cat owner is a lot more exciting than most people think.

We think that all the cat memes prove it. There are too many cat memes depicting cat chaos. Because there is a lot of it. Because even though cats sleep almost all day long, during the time that they are awake, they make sure to make the best out of every second of it. They scream, they shout, they run around the house, doing their little errands, like the little bosses that they are. And they make sure to leave their paw mark in every place that they go to.

It's honestly what we love about them. We love that they sleep all day long. It fits our lifestyle. It's calm, it's sweet, it's precious. But those moments… when the chaos hits their system, and they have to do something about it, that is what we truly live. That is what we create funny cat memes about. And it's why we love everyone else's cat memes as well. Because they are not just funny, they are relatable and pawsome. And no matter how many of these cat memes we see, we smile each and every single time we come across them.

We should spend every day thanking the people working in cat shelters.

We don't know what we would do without the people working in shelters. Nearly every day, if you look, you could find stories of people abandoning their cats. Because some people don't get it - they don't understand how amazing cats are. And every day, every time we come across a story like that, we think to ourselves that instead of abandoning the cat outside, to fend for itself, after knowing nothing in its life besides indoor living, all they needed to do was give the cat to a shelter. It may not be perfect, but it would still be better.

And some shelters are godsent. In some shelters, the people working there go to any length to make sure that the cats that end up in their care are given the best care possible. They save these cats' lives. Without this shelter, Dweeb never would have made it. He was incredibly sick, barely seven months old, abandoned on his own, and when his owners were contacted through the chip info, they said that they don't want him. This shelter saved this kitty's life, and many others, and we are forever thaknful.

March Madness has arrived, and the cats are ready to make their pawdictions.

March Madness shows up and every cat suddenly becomes a full-time fan of the game. The TV turns on, players start sprinting, and the cat is locked in like it's courtside. To them, it's nonstop fast breaks and zoomies on a giant screen, and they are not missing a single second of the action.

The bracket never survives the game quarter. It gets set on the table, and a cat immediately plants itself right on top like it's making some very serious pawdictions. A tail swipes through a few teams, a paw lands on another, and just like that the cat has finalized its picks. No stats, no strategy, just pure feline confidence that this is a championship-level decision.

Snacks turn things into a full game-day situation. The second a bag crinkles, the cat comes running like it heard the opening tip-off. Sitting close, watching every move, ready to sub itself into the snack rotation at any moment. In their mind, this is a team effort and they are a key player.

By the end of it, the cat has claimed the couch, the remote, and probably part of the bracket too. March Madness might be about basketball, but in this house it quickly turns into March Catness, with one very invested feline running a full-court press on snacks, screens, and anything that moves.

The purrfect distraction for the cat community is here. Video games have always been a healthy way for us to reset our brains, but now we finally have one that combines our love of caring for cats, Animal Crossing, and escapism. "Cat Parents" is a heartwarming simulation game where you get to rescue and care for cats, build your purrfect cat sanctuary, and help these sweet strays find their furrever homes with families who love them. Considering how bleak the world is right now, this game looks like the breath of fresh air we didn't know we needed.

One day, you will find out what your cat's weird addiction is as well.

There is always something. In every cat's life, one day, out of nowhere, they will find something amazing. They will find that thing that calls to them. That whispers their name in the dark. A call that they cannot resist. A gentle whiff, and they will go hunting. A tiny humm, and they will fogo chasing. Every cat has something like this, and they find it without warning, without any sign. They will be just as surprised by it as you are. And they will be obsessed with it forever.

For the cat in this story, that thing was opening the faucet. He's obsessed with it. Tries to do it even three years after the faucet was tied shut. Other cats are obsessed with snap peas. Some cats yell at closed doors incessantly. Some cats are obsessed with almonds, not eating them but rather playing with them until they are disintegrated. Our cat at home is obsessed with picking fights with carrots. Something about the smell of that orange thing takes over her mind, and she needs to smack it. Every time. And you know what? It is amazing to see. Every time. And we love every second of it.

Declawing cats should be illegal. We will not be accepting any other opinion on our site.

When we were kids, we had two cats. Our parents declawed them. We were too young to understand what the cats went through after that, but once we learned what it did to them, we vowed never to accept declawing ever again.

But you have to give our parents a little grace, it was a different time in the 1990s. In that time, it was seen as a common veterinary purrcedure. It was even recommended as a solution for cats scratching furniture and to prevent scratching injuries. There wasn't nearly as much criticism on declawing back then as there is now.

Now, declawing has been outlawed in over 40 countries and is being banned in more states as years go on. And yet, some people still remain in that 90s mindset that it's just a routine practice that doesn't affect cats at all. These people are wrong, because now we know that it's much more harmful than simply removing their claws. The equivalent in hoomans of the declawing operation would be like taking off your whole finger until the knuckle. Doesn't sound so harmless now, does it?

So when this cat mom's family demanded she get her cat declawed to "keep their dogs" safe, we're glad to hear that she isn't even entertaining the thought. Some people just don't want to learn, and as hard as you might try, you can't teach someone who doesn't want to learn. Leave those people behind, even if it might be your own family.

Four cats already lived here, but the cat distribution system clearly thought the house had room for one more.

About a month ago, a cat showed up on the front porch meowing like he had something important to say. At first he kept a little distance, but eventually he worked up the courage to approach the kids. Once he realized this house had friendly hoomans and food, he didn't seem very interested in leaving.

Things escalated slowly from there. When a storm was coming, he was allowed to stay in the garage for the night. The garage then felt too cold, so he was moved into the bathroom for a temporary stay. The official rule in the house was still that the cat was not staying. That was the plan, at least.

They did everything they could to find an owner. Local Facebook groups, Nextdoor, shelter sites, and even driving around the neighborhood looking for flyers. The cat was clearly used to people, but he wasn't chipped and nobody came forward looking for him.

While all this was happening, the cat continued settling in. He turned out to be incredibly affectionate and sweet. The kids quickly grew attached and the daughter gave him a name. Toby now has a vet appointment coming up and a comfortable place to sleep.

The official story is that he can stay until a home is found. Toby seems very confident that part of the search is already finished. The cat distribution system appears to have decided this household needed a fifth cat after all.

Life isn't easy for anyone, but the more love we give, and the more love we have, the better life we'll lead.

When you come across a special soul, it's impossible not to boast about it. It's not everyday that someone meets a purrfect cat on the street. This human has his own theories about why this adorable and affectionate cat was dumped, but he gives his story of finding little Sweater. Sweater is one of the most special cats to date. He never gets tired of being snuggled and pet, he wags his tail like a dog, and he's incredibly gentle. He likes to press his forehead against his new owners (who hasn't had him very long), and he loves to touch noses. He loves watching TV, usually from his luxury throne (aka the basket with his blanky in it on the cat tree). The owner claims that his favorite shows are veterinary shows and Golden Girls!

This new owner was even going to TNR the precious thing before he fell in love with him. He decided he can't live without this guy, and now the two are inseparable. Enjoy the rest of the wholesome story!

Look at those ears!

Who wouldn't want an orange cat? They're just like gingers in real life, they're spunky and fiery and interesting. So this 11-year-old boy used to have an orange cat, but the cat crossed the rainbow bridge 7 years ago. He's been begging his parent's to get him another one for so long, but they had other responsibilities, other cats, and the timing just didn't feel right. Now, they decided it's time. And when it's time it's time! Timing is everything. So they go to their local shelter with the 11-year-old and his 6-year-old younger brother. They spot an orange cat there, and the shelter workers say that this one is skittish with people, but they let the boys sit in the room with the cat in case things work out. And lo and behold, the cat warms up to them immediately! It takes no time at all and the cat is rubbing his face on their hands and purring in their laps. Needless to say, they came home that day happier than ever, and with their family just a tiny bit bigger than before.

Cats are well known for their love of stealing, however they are not great at avoiding being caught. That's where this hissterical collection of cats stealing food comes from, and where their pawrents get their revenge.

It is no easy task being pawrent to a lawless cat child. You have so many different things to manage in your cat's life that it is only natural that they are able to get away with some parts of their clawminality. And seeing as we generally put more pressure on them to not rip up our furniture or climb on the walls, it is often the case that food is the subject of their clawminal tendencies.

And that is where this collection of funny felines caught attempting to and succeeding to steal their pawrent's food comes from. So sit back, make sure your cat child is far away from you so that they do not get any bright ideas, and enjoy the cat-based calamity and chaos that goes on in the homes of other pawrents.

The week is approaching its middle, and we're here to avoid the midweek slump with the special kind of zen only cats can bring.

It's easy to feel relaxed when a cat is around. Sure, cats might have their unexplained midnight zoomies, their random screams at blank walls, or their chase of imaginary prey. But all that pales in comparison next to the absolute zen state cats can get humans into. All cat pawrents have experienced more than once the weighted blanket situation - when the cat decides you're their bed, and there's nothing you can do about it. Just… embrace the current situation and relax into it. The purrs help, fur sure.

And this relaxation might even come just by being next to cats, in their vicinity. A cat who sleeps in the corner, who slowly blinks at you, telling you how they trust you with a mere look. So if you don't have a cat to be next to - try cat memes instead. Being next to cats in the digital realm, for coziness and relaxation.

Show a cat kindness once, and it will remember it forever.

We warn people about this all the time. Cats remember things. Cats can tell who is kind and who is not. At the end of the day, it is a known fact that cats domesticated themselves, and there is a reason for it. It's much easier to be spoiled and loved in a warm home with servants than it is to fight for every morsel of food out in the wild. And every day, even today, cats choose to give up the outdoor life, that it is too much for them. Cats choose to adopt humans for themselves.

You never know when or where it will happen, but the second that it does - the second that a cat chooses you - there is no going back from it. It will be the most regular day in the world, and out of nowhere, your life will completely change and will be, from then on, full of shenanigans, meowing and midnight zoomies. And it will be the best thing that has ever happened to you. You might not believe it in the moment, when your life is turning upside down, but you'll see it eventually.

Cats are always the best indicator of red flags in your partner.

We truly think that cats are like truth detectors. They may not always be able to tell you who is a good partner for you and who is not, but they will give you the signs. The way that your partner treats your cats means so much. If your partner is jealous of your cat and doesn't know how to deal with you showing your cat affection, that's a problem. If your partner thinks that you kissing your cat is disgusting and refuses to kiss you if you do, that's another problem. And if your partner, one day, gives you an ultimatum: it's either them or the cat, then we think that the choice should be a clear one.

Of course, it's never easy to make that choice. It's never easy to put your relationship off to the side because of the signs that your partner gives you. It's why we think that you should have the cat conversation early. The sooner you get to an agreement when it comes to your pets, the smaller the chance that you will end up in the situation that this woman and her husband ended up in.

Sometimes all you need to start your week is a cute cat purring in your lap or staring at you while you make breakfast and regret everything you did over the weekend.

Your cat may look at you with disappointment, and you know he's right. Just do your business and feed me, hooman. You make coffee while staring into space, processing everything that happened and everything you need to do next. The Monday existential stare hits hard.

Maybe you said yes to every plan you got invited to during the weekend. One dinner turned into three, one drink turned into five, one birthday party turned into the wildest karaoke night ever. And suddenly, it's Monday. Your body is awake but your soul is still somewhere between a crazy Saturday night and a gloomy Sunday evening. Now you have to work, and your cat is the only one judging your life choices. He's sitting there waiting to be fed, looking so lovely and silently judging you at the same time. Being adorable is basically his only responsibility. You're so lucky to have your own personal emotional support coworker living with you.

This collection of cat memes is the boost you need to tackle all your responsibilities and start your day on the right paw.
Scroll down for your daily cat therapy.
